The authorities of Veracruz have detained the brother of the Welfare delegate, Estefani Galassi Gómez, Heriberto 'N'. The arrest is the result of an investigation and a citizen's report. The operation took place in the Colonia Magisterio, located in the municipality of Tihuatlán. It involved the Prosecutor's Office, State Police, local Public Security Secretariat, Army, and National Guard. According to authorities, the location is linked to a criminal group responsible for violence and drug sales in the region. During the operation, supposed doses of marijuana, cocaine, and crystal were seized. Estefani Galassi confirmed her brother's detention, stating she learned of it through social media. She expressed that the situation causes her pain and concern. She also called for not politicizing her brother's arrest, as it is separate from her person, and is against «building narratives far from reality». In addition to Heriberto 'N', seven other people were detained: Raúl Birzabith 'N', Ana Karen 'N', Bernny Arain 'N', Denilsson José 'N', Atanacia 'N', Salustio 'N', and Gloria 'N'. According to authorities, this group is accused of crimes against health, bribery, and attacks on public security institutions. The Veracruz Prosecutor's Office reported that the detainees were made available to the corresponding judicial body, and the fight against crimes against health will continue in the entity.
